All our students deserve a high five for their excellent behavior and effort on state assessments.   We have made gains in several areas and the students continue to amaze me with how hard they are working.   We have two more days of testing with 8th Grade Science on Monday and Algebra/Geometry on Tuesday.  Keep up the great work Patriots.

This week Sims will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week.  I am grateful to work with such a talented group of educators who love your kids and try to provide a high-quality rigorous education where students are supported as they meet each academic challenge.

Other Information

  • Students who are in danger of needing summer school have been given a purple Summer School form.  The district will be able to provide transportation.  It is important that students turn that form in so that transportation can be notified.

  •   8th Grade Dance is May 17 from 6-9 p.m. at Sims Middle School.  Tickets sales are on-line this week.  $15 in advance or $20 at the door.  This dance is for Sims Middle 8th graders only.

  • Invitations for 8th grade awards have been given to students.  Only students receiving awards are invited.  The 8th grade Awards ceremony is Thursday, May 22 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Pace Assembly. 

  •   8th grade students who are not passing all classes for the year will be working in credit recovery in lieu of participating in Fun Day on May 23.  Please check your child’s grades in Focus and encourage him/her to finish strong.
